Mars In Cancer
The voyage of Mars through Cancer gives us the opportunity to blend the fiery planet’s initiative with Cancerian concerns for preservation. We’ll want to spend this time carefully building things that honor and acknowledge our connection to the past and to family values. Our urge to move forward during this time doesn’t cut us off from familiar patterns, but includes them, to make for a more gentle and comfortable step into the future.
It’s true that Mars is toned down when it moves through sensitive Cancer, but that doesn’t mean we won’t get anything done. If we learn how to work with the Mars-in-Cancer energy, a great deal can be accomplished. Digging into domestic tasks is one of the best ways to use this transit. Mars in Cancer is a great opportunity to get out your hammer and nails so you can start (or finish) a home improvement project.
You may also feel a greater need to fight for the rights of a family member or a domestic situation during this time. Even though Mars in Cancer prefers using its energy to nurture, it will ultimately do whatever it takes to defend what and whom it cares about. As a result, you may notice that an intensely protective instinct takes over your actions when Mars and Cancer sync up.
The problem with Mars’ transit though cautious Cancer is that rather than taking a direct approach to going after what we want, we take a more passive one. If we don’t feel emotionally connected to something, it’s unlikely we’ll take action. Unfortunately, the action we do take is usually ruled by the heart, and may be more reactive and oversensitive than purposeful.

Greetings, Cancer, my celestial crustaceans! The Waning Gibbous moon is currently 17.4 days old... which, incidentally, is the same age as the sandwich I found in the back of my fridge. Coincidence? I think not!
This lunar phase signals a time to wrap up projects, tie loose ends, and generally avoid starting anything new... much like the end of a sci-fi series that's run its course. (I'm looking at you, Season 5 of Babylon 5)
Jupiter and the Sun are having a bit of a cosmic dance-off in your house of communication. This means you might find yourself with an uncharacteristic urge to explain quantum mechanics to your cat. Don't worry, Mr. Whiskers is more understanding than you think.
Also, remember when I mentioned that sandwich? Well, it's not just a forgotten relic of lunch past, it's a metaphor for your life. Take this time to clean out your own proverbial fridge – declutter your space, your mind, and even your contact list. That guy from high school who keeps sending you pyramid scheme invites? Time to let him go.
On a final note, Mars is in retrograde, so watch out for rogue gym equipment. The last thing you need is a hostile treadmill.
