Solar Activity
Solar activity was at moderate levels. Region 4100 (N10W22, Ekc/beta-gamma) produced an M3.3/2b flare at 02/1118 UTC, the strongest of the period. The region continued its very gradual decay over the past 24 hours. Only minor changes were observed in the remaining numbered active regions on the visible disk. No Earth-directed CMEs were observed in available coronagraph imagery.
Solar Wind
Solar wind parameters reflected the continued, but waning, influence of a CME that left the Sun on 31 May. Total magnetic field strength peaked at 25 nT around 02/1300 UTC and steadily declined to ~12 nT by the end of the reporting period. The Bz component rotated to a sustained far south orientation near -12 nT after 02/0800 UTC. Solar wind speeds declined from ~1100 UTC to near 700 km/s.
Energetic Particle
The greater than 2 MeV electron flux was at normal to moderate levels. The greater than 10 MeV proton flux exceeded the S1 (Minor) threshold, but trended downward, with average flux values well below the S1 threshold by the end of the reporting period.
